Throughout 2009 The Playground's business had been expanding from its beginnings in music promotion to cover music PR, magazine publishing, design and photography so it was decided that an image rehaul was needed. The previous logo was aimed specifically at young music fans so what was needed was a look which would reflect the maturing of the business and target markets. In the end I created a simple logo based on a light weight of Futura but giving this an individual twist by incorporating a triangle into the text. This triangle motif has in turn been used as a key element in promotional pieces since.
